Between 2019 and 2020, six pyramids were discovered in 5 different locations in Yucatán and until now not much information had been released about the structures, but Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History has begun to reveal details about them.
Four of the pyramids still remain hidden in the forest and there is no precise and official information.
As for the other two, it is known that one is known as “Chaltún Ha”, and is almost eight meters high and 100 meters wide and is located in the municipality of Izamal, northeast of Chichen Itza.
Chaltún is a three-meter-high structure with three buildings; two smaller ones, located on the east and west sides, and the main structure is six meters high, being located on the south side.

The other pyramid discovered was called “Kulubá”, and is located in the southeast of the municipality of Tizimín.
Kulubá is a huge construction 55 meters long by 15 meters wide and 6 meters high, whose characteristics indicate that it was built between the years 600 and 1050.
