Canadian Paul Hellyer defines himself as the first influential politician in developed countries to attest to the existence of UFOs.
“There are ETs alive on Earth right now, and at least two of them probably work with the United States government,” said former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer during a public hearing on the existence of extraterrestrial life held in Washington, where several former senators and members of the United States House of Representatives heard testimony from experts and witnesses.
Paul Hellyer is a well-known supporter of the existence of extraterrestrials.
In 2005 he openly declared that he believes in UFOs, which generated great repercussions both in Canada and the rest of the world.
As Canada’s Minister of National Defense in 1963, Hellyer was responsible for the controversial integration of Maritime Forces Command, Canadian Land Forces Command and the Royal Canadian Air Force into a single organization: the Canadian Armed Forces.
Hellyer is the most senior member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, which serves as a kind of ministerial cabinet in the country’s constitutional monarchy.
He claims that he started to believe in UFOs when he had an experience with his wife and friends one night. Despite not taking the matter into consideration at the time, he said he kept an open mind and began to treat the matter seriously.
“UFOs are as real as the planes that fly over our heads,” said the Canadian politician at the hearing.
He was part of a group of 40 international researchers and witnesses, including military personnel and scientists, who testified about their extraterrestrial experiments in front of six former members of the US Congress at the non-governmental public hearing.
The former Canadian Minister of Defense also stated that investigations have shown the existence of “at least four extraterrestrial species that have been visiting Earth for thousands of years.”
There were also statements about how several United States presidents have shown great interest in UFOs and, in some cases, have tried unsuccessfully to obtain specific information about the veracity of extraterrestrial cases.
